Bread Pudding

4 c stale bread, cubed

2 c milk

6 whole eggs

6 egg yolks

1 c sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp nutmeg

Method

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pour the milk into a saucepan, and heat on the stove to a low simmer. While the milk heats, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Once the milk has warmed up, slowly pour it into the egg mixture whisking constantly. When the milk is fully incorporated, pour over the bread and gently fold the mixture until all the bread is evenly coated in the custard. Pour the bread pudding into a baking dish that has been buttered and coated in Sugar in the Raw. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the bread pudding is a nice golden brown and has set in the center.

Bananas Foster Sauce

1 stick butter

2 bananas, sliced

Juice of one orange

1/2 c brown sugar

1/4 c bourbon

1 tsp cinnamon

Method

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat, then add brown sugar and bananas. Let this cook for a few minutes before adding your bourbon. Allow your sauce to cook until the smell of alcohol dissipates, stirring from time to time. Lastly add your cinnamon, and then pour over your bread pudding!
